TRELLEBORG, Sweden — Trelleborg Wheel Systems is looking to expand its business in two-wheeler tires by setting up a venture in India to make the company’s Mitas-brand motorcycle and scooter tires.
TRELLEBORG, Sweden — Trelleborg A.B. posted a 14.6-percent improvement in pre-tax operating income for the first half of fiscal 2018 on 4.8-percent higher sales.
Trelleborg has inaugurated its new European logistics hub for material handling and construction tires and its new Benelux commercial office in Evergem, Belgium.
The premises consists of a 3,048ft² (10,000m²) warehouse along with offices to house the Benelux commercial office for Trelleborg Wheels Systems. Holding more than 70,000 tires in stock, Trelleborg Wheel Systems says that it can serve its European warehouses and key customers in the region from this facility on a ‘just in time’ basis.
Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg is making a “substantial investment” at its Otrokovice tire production plant in the Czech Republic to increase utilisation rates at the facility, the company has told ERJ.
“We need higher capacity utilisation and… we are looking forward to a world-class manufacturing site with high-end production of radial agricultural tires and new production lines for OTR tires,” Trelleborg communications manager Karin Larsson told ERJ.

TRELLEBORG, Sweden—The integration of Czech rubber company CGS with Trelleborg A.B. is proving to be a “relatively complex” process, according to President and CEO Peter Nilsson.
“In general, we have worked with it in two stages. The first one, which has started, was to secure and develop continued customer relations and sales channels,” the Trelleborg boss said in an internal interview published in Trelleborg’s annual report.
Trelleborg is focusing more on now is continuing to improve the cost and revenue aspects, in part by creating synergies.
“For example, it’s a question of how we can reduce the complexity in our manufacturing and make more efficient use of our manufacturing facilities,” Nilsson said.
According to the Trelleborg official, the company created a new sales organization in 2017 to better leverage synergies, which he said will mostly occur in 2018 and beyond.
Trelleborg Wheel Systems will showcase a number of key innovations aimed at helping farmers to produce more with less, sustainably at this year’s Agribex in Brussels, Belgium.

Ammanford, UK –Technology companies Haydale and Artis have linked up with Trelleborg Antivibration Solutions to investigate plasma-functionalisation of recovered carbon black (dCB) from scrap tires.
