Tristone Flow-tech opens hose plant in North Carolina

MOORESVILLE, N.C—Tristone Flowtech Group GmbH will begin production of engine cooling hoses at its newly built manufacturing plant in Mooresville by the end of May.

Headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, the global hose, pipe and surge tank maker held the grand opening of its first facility in the U.S. on April 17. The company spent about $23.6 million on the project and, together with investments made by the owner of the site, constructed a complex that spans about 220,660 square feet.

Trelleborg notes automotive sales decline in Q1 report

Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg AB has seen a reduction in business from automotive-related customers during the first quarter of 2019, the company reported 26 April.

While sales grew 9% year-on-year to SEK9.38 billion (€884 million), Trelleborg said organic growth slowed at 1% compared to the preceding period.

Earnings (EBITDA) grew 1% to SEK1.38 billion, while EBIT margin fell to 13.8% from 15.1% in the prior-year first quarter.

Trelleborg to start expansion project at Czech plant soon

Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg AB is set to start construction on an expansion plan at its tire production facility in Otrokovice, Czechia ‘shortly’, according to a company spokeswoman.

“We recently got approval from the local authorities to start building and the construction work will start within short,” communications manager Karin Larsson said in a 13 March statement to ERJ.

Trelleborg acquires tire service provider and distributor in Canada

Trelleborg Wheel Systems announced it has signed an agreement and finalized the acquisition of Pneus ICM Inc – a specialized industrial tire service provider and distributor in Montreal, Canada.

Pneu ICM is the second largest industrial tire dealer in the Montreal area, and a main service provider for eastern Canada. With annual sales of approximately C$3.39 Million, this bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.

Trelleborg opens EU logistics hub for material handling and construction tires

Trelleborg has inaugurated its new European logistics hub for material handling and construction tires and its new Benelux commercial office in Evergem, Belgium.

The premises consists of a 3,048ft² (10,000m²) warehouse along with offices to house the Benelux commercial office for Trelleborg Wheels Systems. Holding more than 70,000 tires in stock, Trelleborg Wheel Systems says that it can serve its European warehouses and key customers in the region from this facility on a ‘just in time’ basis.

Trelleborg raising tire capacity at two European sites

Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg is making a “substantial investment” at its Otrokovice tire production plant in the Czech Republic to increase utilisation rates at the facility, the company has told ERJ.

“We need higher capacity utilisation and… we are looking forward to a world-class manufacturing site with high-end production of radial agricultural tires and new production lines for OTR tires,” Trelleborg communications manager Karin Larsson told ERJ.
