(Bowie, MD – 9/13/2017) – As thousands of people look to repair from the devastation left by the recent hurricanes, many businesses are left wondering how they will recover. The Tire Industry Association and members of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) Coalition will lobby Congress to apply WOTC to natural disasters, that will cover powerful hurricanes like Harvey and Irma.
The Tire Industry Association 2017 Board of Directors election deadline is Friday, September 1st. All TIA members that are in good standing and with voting rights are encouraged to vote. Vote online here.

New legislature that prohibits the sale of unsafe used tires in New Jersey has been sent to Gov. Chris Christie.
The bill (A 3896) would prohibit the sale of unsafe used tires that pose a risk to New Jersey motorists and impose a fine on a business that sells a tire that exhibits any one of several unsafe conditions such as worn-out tread, visible damage, or improper repairs.

The Hall of Fame is open to individuals in the tire industry, including manufacturers, inventors, publishers, equipment suppliers, tire association executives, tire dealers, tire and rubber recyclers and retreaders.
