The program on Feb. 20 will begin with U.S. and Canadian Economic Forecasts presented by TIA’s Kevin Rohlwing, senior vice president of training, and Glenn Maidment, president of the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada. An End-User Panel will follow, moderated by Modern Tire Dealer Publisher Greg Smith. Panelists include Robert Smart, procurement category manager, mobile equipment, Martin Marietta, and Lonnie Sullivan, strategic sourcing manager, mobile equipment, Vulcan Materials Co.

The Tire Industry Association announced author Steve Gilliland will speak at the 2020 OTR Tire conference and will discuss how the conscious choices people make every day impact the lives of others in a motivational speech on the final day of the conference.

Titled “Making a Difference,” the speech will detail how to positively influence people in every imaginable way, regardless of position or status. Gilliland’s speech is sponsored by BKT USA Inc.

Cologne, Germany – Recycled styrene from plastic waste streams has the capability to be “upcycled” in tires, according to Sandra Hofmann, global technology & innovation director, synthetic rubber, Trinseo.

“The question is, how to transform from a linear production model to something which enables the circular economy,” said Hofmann, during a presentation to Future Tire Conference 2019, held in Cologne, 11-12 June.

London – The single most effective improvement that can make tires more sustainable today is enhancing air-retention, according to ExxonMobil Chemical.

“When we think of sustainability we shouldn’t just focus on things that make great headlines or very long term goals,” said a company spokesman in a Q&A ahead of the Future Tire Conference 2019, in June.

Germany: Simulation technology as well as other efficiency measures are to help Continental AG achieve a 25% improved product performance by 2025, compared to a baseline of 2010.
