Cooper Tire is inviting attendees at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas to experience “The Start of an Evolution” with the unveiling of its new Evolution tire line beginning today in booth #43019. Greenball Corporation is returning to SEMA this year with a newly expanded line of tires and wheels for a wide range of vehicles, from light trucks, specialty trailer tires, ATVs, UTVs and more. According to the company, Greenball’s light truck brands are both expanding their size offerings for select models. On display at the Greenball booth will be two new sizes of Kanati’s Mud Hog M/T tire, with five more sizes coming soon.
Sentury Tire has announced that it will be featuring two new project vehicles at the Sentury Tire booth at SEMA 2017. A 2018 Maserati Levante will be equipped with Delinte DS8 Performance SUV Tires and a 2018 Mercedes G63 with Delinte DX10 All-Terrain Tires. Both vehicles will highlight the latest custom wheels from Giovanna.
LAS VEGAS — Dealing with changing vehicle technology will be a recurring theme this year at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show and Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), which run concurrently the week of Oct.

Each event will be held on Monday, October 30 at Paris Las Vegas Hotel. The Global Tire Expo/SEMA Show – Powered by TIA will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV from October 31 – November 3, 2017.
LAS VEGAS (Dec. 19, 2016) — Hankook Tire America Corp. is counting on the start of production next year at its Clarksville, Tenn., plant to help energize efforts to expand its OE presence in North America, especially with some of the Japanese transplant factories, executives told Tire Business in an interview at the recent Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.
Noting that Hankook has been supplying a number of premium OE car makers for a long time, Jae Bum Park, senior vice president, said, “Next year we are going to beef up our supply to Japanese makers,…so our performance in the OE sector will be transformed to [the] replacement market….”
Hankook expects the Clarksville plant to be up and running by the first quarter, Mr. Park said, and ramp up steadily by 2018 to the rated capacity of 16,000 units a day.

An offshore exhibitor was served papers at the 2016 SEMA Show. Well-known U.S.-based Jeep accessory manufacturer Omix-ADA noticed suspiciously familiar products being displayed at the show by Unity 4WD Accessories Co., Limited of Guangzhou, China. The company filed a civil complaint with the U.S. District Court, and obtained a summons and civil action for a temporary restraining order and seizure of goods. U.S. Marshals served papers to the company’s representatives, and ordered the display dismantled and the goods in question removed.
The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced today the locations for the 2017 Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Advanced Instructor Training Tour. These 4-day, in-depth, hands-on training classes will be conducted around the United States with the goal of educating tire technicians on the proper safety procedures and guidelines for servicing passenger and light truck tire and wheel assemblies. Most of these classes are held at local community and technical colleges.
