Sumitomo recalling Falken, Dunlop, Goodyear tires for tread separation issues

WASHINGTON — Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. is recalling 2,286 passenger tires sold in the U.S. earlier this year under the Goodyear, Dunlop and Falken brand names because of possible tread separation issues.

Conti recalling over 5,000 commercial vehicle tires in North America

Washington — Continental Tire the Americas LLC is recalling 5,356 Conti Coach HA3 commercial vehicle tires, size 315/80R22.5, because of a manufacturing anomaly that could lead to a loss of internal pressure through the sidewall.

The tires being recalled were manufactured at Conti’s plant in Mount Vernon, Illinois, from 27 Aug 2017, to 28 April 2018, and sold in both the OE and replacement markets in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Continental Announces Recall

Continental Tire is voluntarily initiating a safety recall for 655 commercial vehicle tires.

The tires involved in the recall are 11R22.5 Conti Hybrid HS3, Load Range G, produced during DOT weeks 9, 10, and 11 of 2018, and sold in the original equipment and replacement markets in the U.S. and Canada.

NHTSA Issues Kumho Recall Over Potential Tread Separation

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a recall affecting about 1,700 Kumho Solus tires manufactured in March and early April. The 1,773 affected Solus KH16 tires in size p225/65R17 were manufactured between March 26 and April 1. According to the NHTSA, the affected tires may experience tread separation in severe conditions. Under the recall, Kumho is required to notify owners of the defect and tire dealers will replace the tires, free of charge.
