RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Giti Tire (USA) Ltd. is continuing to operate its factory in South Carolina and its U.S. distribution centers without interruption during the COVID-19 pandemic but is prepared to make “necessary adjustments as needed in a timely manner.”
“Independent tire dealers are absolutely critical to the success of GT Radial,” Thomas Okihisa, director of marketing for Giti Tire USA, said. “The Smart Program is designed to give them the necessary tools to promote GT Radial in the most effective way possible.”
Giti Tire’s GT Radial Ride and Drive Day at Horiba Mira, held in partnership with exclusive brand distributor passenger for car, SUV/4×4 and light truck tyres, Micheldever Tyre Services (MTS), was attended by a capacity group of 40 new and existing customers.
Giti Tire invited members of the media along with North American retailers and distributors to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the launch of the new GT Radial MAXTOUR LX.
Fittingly, the event kicked off at Giti Tire’s first-ever North-American production facility located in Richburg, South Carolina, which began operations in 2017. Both the production facility and the Giti Tire North American product lineup will expand as the brand continues to gain notoriety.

Giti Tires USA announced that its manufacturing facility in South Carolina has completed an audit by Volkswagen to supply two tire sizes for the 2019 Volkswagen Passat.
The plant can now officially begin producing the premium All-Season GitiComfort A1 in the 235/45R18 95H and 235/40R19 92H sizes for the popular Volkswagen sedan. Production of tires for Volkswagen will commence in the first quarter.
