RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Giti Tire (USA) Ltd. is launching the Giti brand of commercial truck tires in North America with products available for long-haul, regional, urban/light-duty and mixed-service applications.
Giti Tire (USA) Ltd. continues to reap the benefits of its new plant and relocated technical center in Chester County, S.C.
Giti Tire has become the Official Tyre Partner of the F3 Asian Championship, a new five-round, 15-race series Certified by the FIA. At each event the tyre manufacturer will provide all teams with two sets of GitiCompete GTR1 tyres, part of the company’s comprehensive range of competition racing tyres which are used in events around the world.
U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) welcomed Giti Tire USA as its newest member. The USTMA Board of Directors unanimously approved the company’s membership at the association’s spring Board of Directors meeting.
Tire manufacturers that produce tires in the U.S are eligible for USTMA membership. Giti began tire production at its new Richburg, S.C. facility in October of 2017. The company’s U.S. headquarters is in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart Inc. has honored Giti Tire (USA) Ltd. with a U.S. Manufacturing Award that recognizes offshore suppliers that have initiated production in the U.S.
Giti Tire has named Tim Fulton as chief operating officer of Giti Tire Manufacturing USA and Jim Mayfield as senior executive vice president of sales and marketing in North America. It also promoted eight-year Giti veteran Lou Monico to vice president sales and marketing for Canada, with concurrent responsibility for corporate accounts.
RICHBURG, S.C. — U.S. Sen. Tim Scott was introduced to the world of tire making on Dec. 4 during his tour of the new, $1.7-million Giti Tire Group manufacturing plant in Richburg.
RICHBURG, S.C.–Giti Tire has initiated production at its $560 million Richburg tire plant, making Singapore-headquartered Giti the 16th global tire maker with U.S.-based manufacturing capacity.
Operations are now underway at Giti Tire’s new production plant in Richburg, South Carolina – the company’s first in the USA. The new 1,700,000ft² facility is expected to create 1,700 local jobs.
For the remainder of 2017, it is estimated that around 100,000 units of Dextero branded tires will be manufactured for Walmart. In 2018, capacity is scheduled to reach several million tires, with more passenger and light truck sizes being added in the future.
Giti Tire Group opened the doors of its new greenfield manufacturing facility located in the heart of rural Chester County, S.C., for a preview event and soft opening Oct. 4. For the global tiremaker headquartered in Singapore, the $560 million investment in its first U.S production facility is intended to advance the company’s commitment to the North American marketplace.
“Our investment in this facility and its workforce demonstrates our firm commitment to North American customers,” said Dr. Enki Tan, CEO of Giti Tire. He went on to say that the area’s “extensive infrastructure network, proximity to a major metropolitan area and commitment to a highly skilled workforce” made it an attractive location for the company.
