Falken Tires announced it will begin supplying its high-performance Falken AZENIS FK001 A/S tires to Toyota Motor Corporation for use as factory standard tires on their new model MIRAI fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) for the North American market, which went on sale this December.
The new model MIRAI not only achieves improved fuel economy compared with previous FCEVs, but is also designed to provide a more refined, comfortable ride as well as a quieter drive.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — Sumitomo Rubber North America is planning to raise prices on select Falken-brand tire lines.
Falken Tire has launched its newest tire, the Ziex ZE960 A/S, a high-performance all-season tire designed to deliver long-lasting safety and sports car-inspired performance to today’s dynamic passenger car vehicles, the company says.
The ZE960’s predecessor, the Ziex ZE950, was made in over 100 sizes for vehicles from sports coupes to CUVs. This time around, Falken limited its size offering to 53, specifically focusing on the demands of today’s dynamic coupes and sedans.
Falken (Booth 3J 081) is set to reveal the successor to its popular SN832 at Equip Auto in Paris next month. With an emphasis on all-round efficiency, the new Sincera SN110 Ecorun will be the centrepiece of the tyre manufacturer’s display alongside its expanding range of car, light commercial and truck and bus tyres.
“We’ve decided to reveal the SN110 at Equip Auto as it’s expected to be a key aftermarket tyre in Europe for customers who want more from their tyres. Brussels – Falken has been approved to supply high performance tires to Audi’s compact SUV, the Q3, the company announced 19 Sept.
The SUV will be fitted with the 215/65R17 99V derivative of Falken’s Ziex ZE914 A EC AO pattern, which is exclusively available for original equipment.
The tire has low rolling resistance and good handling and braking properties “even on wet roads,” said Falken Tyre Europe, an affiliate of Japanese tire maker Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI).
Falken’s runflat version of its popular winter tire, the EuroWinter HS01, will be available soon, along with an expanded range of sizes of the company’s winter and all-season tires.
Thanks to the company’s runflat technology, in the event of a puncture, the tire can be driven for 50 miles (80km) up to a speed of 50mph. The EuroWinter HS01 runflat is also said to offer grip on snowy, icy and wet roads.
