Pirelli, Nokian, Hankook among sustainability index leaders

NEW YORK — Pirelli & C. SpA, Nokian Tyre P.L.C. and Hankook Tire & Technology Co. Ltd. are among the tire manufacturers named in the latest Dow Jones Sustainability World and Europe Indexes, which is conducted annually by RobecoSam and S&P Dow Jones.

Pirelli earned the top spot globally in the automobile and components sector with 85 points, nearly 50 points higher than the sector average of 36 points.

Sustainable natural rubber a big goal for industry

FAIRLAWN, Ohio—The natural rubber latex industry is taking steps toward sustainability, but it’s important to remember that the process has just begun.

LANXESS included in Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, again

Starting from September 23, 2019, speciality chemicals company LANXESS will be listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World for the ninth time in succession, at fourth place in the “Chemicals” category. LANXESS will also be included in the DJSI Europe for the third time in a row – as the second-best company in its industry.

Michelin renews, expands its work with WWF France

The 2015-initiated collaboration between the Michelin Group and the French office of the World Wide Fund for Nature has been renewed for a further four years. The tyre maker will continue working with WWF France towards sustainability within the natural rubber market. In the coming four years, the partnership will further develop an existing pilot project in Indonesia and additionally open up the collaboration to include sustainable mobility and the protection of biodiversity.
