Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has completed the acquisition its Mexico joint venture tyre manufacturing facility, Corporación de Occidente S. A. de C.V. (COOCSA). The agreement to increase its shareholding from 58 to 100 per cent was announced on 1 November 2019.

Cooper Tire helps young drivers prepare for safe winter driving

Cooper Tire’s Tread Wisely Program, is offering tips to help young drivers stay safe on the road this winter.

“Winter weather can require extra attention and quick response when driving, and the cold temperatures can also impact tire care,” said Bill Geaman, Cooper’s Manager of Consumer Relations. “Outside temperatures can impact tire pressure by one pound per square inch (psi) for every 10-degree drop in temperature.

Cooper Tire announced it plans to increase ownership in its Mexico joint venture tire manufacturing facility, Corporación de Occidente S.A. de C.V. (COOCSA), from 58 percent to 100 percent.

Trabajadores Democraticos de Occidente S.C. de R.L. de C.V. (TRADOC), which owns 42 percent of the joint venture, have entered into a definitive agreement under which Cooper Tire will purchase TRADOC’s stake in COOCSA.

Wycoff to head Mickey Thompson Tires

Max-Trac Tire Co./Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels has promoted Dominick Wycoff to president, succeeding Chris Barbara, who is moving to parent Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. to become director, dealer channel sales.

Mr. Wycoff has been vice president of business development for Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels for the past three years. Prior to that he had a 17-year career with Terry’s Tire Town, where he held a number of leadership positions.

In his new position, Mr. Wycoff will be responsible for leading and executing the strategic plan to grow the Mickey Thompson business profitably.
