Cooper Tire Launches Severe Series Tire for Construction Trucks

Cooper Tire has released a new mixed service-wide base all-position (WBA) tire as part of its Cooper Severe Series lineup.

The tire is available in 385/65R22.5 and 425/65R22.5 sizes, in load range L.

“Our Cooper Severe Series tire line, which now also includes the WBA, provides exceptional performance while giving our customers a low cost of ownership proposition,” said Gary Schroeder, executive director of Cooper’s Global Truck and Bus Tire Business.

ETRMA applauds inclusion of commercial vehicles in EU’s TPMS regulations

BRUSSELS—The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association praised the European Parliament committee for endorsing revised European Union tire pressure monitoring systems rules.The regulation updates existing vehicle safety rules to extend TPMS requirements to light and heavy commercial vehicles, trailers and buses.

Prometeon adds Tier 3 TBR brand; Tier 2 brand to follow

MILAN, Italy — Prometeon Tyre Group S.r.l., the former Pirelli industrial tire business, has launched a Tier 3 associate truck/bus tire brand as part of the company’s move to a multi-brand approach.

Developed with a special focus on safety, the “Anteo” brand will complement Pirelli as Prometeon’s premium brand, the company said, while an as-yet-unnamed Tier 2 brand is being developed as well for launch later in 2019.

Yokohama unveils two new, long-lasting SmartWay-verified tires

Yokohama has unveiled two new long-lasting SmartWay-verified, fuel efficient and low rolling resistance tires – the 712L and 114R UWB. The two new tires will be on display in the Yokohama booth (#3109) at the TMC Show in Atlanta, Georgia from March 18 to 21.
