Hanover, January 18, 2021. Continental expands the digital online dealer portal ContiOnlineContact. The portal now lists the entire Off-The-Road (OTR) and agricultural tire portfolio. This enables dealers and customers from the agricultural, industrial, earthmoving, port and airport sectors, among others, to order tires flexibly and on demand. With the expansion of the dealer portal to include OTR and agricultural tires, service performance will be continuously improved and tire ordering will be catering to the individual needs of the customers. The new products are available both as ad-hoc orders with delivery directly from the regional warehouses and as direct shipments from the factories.
Donald “Ryan” Loethen, a veteran of the ag tire business, has been named president of CEAT Specialty Tires Inc. , and will be responsible for sales in North and Central America. He will be based out of Jefferson City, MO.
Before joining CEAT, Loethen was agricultural business manager, key account manager and sales process training manager for Michelin Agriculture North America. Prior to joining Michelin, Loethen was an officer in the United States Army.
Coolcroo Farm, in Tipperary, used to run a mix of competitor brands but switched to Michelin following technical advice from local account manager Christopher Eakin.
It now runs its four smaller tractors on a variety of different size Michelin XeoBib tyres, while its larger Fendt 828 is fitted with IF 710/70 R42 AxioBib on the rear and VF 600/60 R34 XeoBib on the front. It also operates a Horsh trailed sprayer on VF 710/60 R42 XeoBibs.
“I just can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t use these tyres,” says farm owner Michael Healy. “The impact on our soil health has been huge since switching to Michelin, which in turn has improved our yields – and that’s the only thing we’ve changed, so it has to be down to the tyres.
Yokohama Rubber announced that it will consolidate its various off-highway businesses into one single entity. This will include Alliance Tire Group (ATG), which Yokohama bought four years ago and Yokohama’s off-the-road (OTR) tire businesses across the globe. This new entity, named Yokohama Off-Highway Tires, will have a global footprint with leadership team distributed between Tokyo, Boston, Amsterdam and Mumbai.
Michelin introduces the TRAILXBIB, its newest agriculture tire for slurry wagons, spreaders and trailers designed for outstanding endurance, prolonged tire life and low soil compaction.
Co-developed with farmers from several continents, the Michelin TRAILXBIB is air-systems ready and designed with Michelin VF Ultraflex Technology to help reduce soil compaction and optimize yields. The tire has a low-pressure impact in fields and is puncture and aggression resistant.
The new Agrimax RT 818 from Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) targets irrigation machines and is designed to run at lower air pressure levels for extra flotation. “This feature is very important since it combines major advantages in both sustainability and effectiveness,” say BKT officials.
The program offers $100 per tire for many of its Agriflex IF and VF tires, and $75 per tire for Agri Star II farm radials 30 in. and larger. The rebate is available for certain farm tires purchased between Sept. 1, 2020 and Jan. 31, 2021.
