Pirelli cuts guidance, delays business plan in worsening scenario

Adding to a string of auto parts suppliers hit by prolonged industry weakness, Pirelli said it forecast a full-year margin on its adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) between 17% and 17.5% versus an already lowered previous target of 18-19%.

Pirelli, which makes tyres for Formula One racing teams and premium automakers such as BMW and Audi, said in a statement it cut its guidance after facing greater fixed costs as it lowered production to reduce inventories.

LabsCubed robot helps with multi-sample testing

CLEVELAND—Kitchener, Ontario-based LabsCubed Inc. exhibited at the International Elastomer Conference in Cleveland Oct. 8-10, showcasing its CubeOne limited-production tensile strength testing robot.

The CubeOne allows operators to test up to 12 samples at a time, according to LabsCubed publicity. A robot automatically loads and unloads samples, and smart grips ensure accurate and consistent tests, the company said.

CMA names three to Double Coin sales positions


MONROVIA, Calif. — CMA L.L.C. has hired David Misbrener to be the company’s national OEM manager for the Double Coin Tires business and promoted two others in regional sales.

The company also promoted Tim Abel, previously regional sales manager, to national truck-stop manager and named Adriaan Van Niekerk to regional manager for the Southwest region, where he will be responsible for creating and growing business for Double Coin tires.
