Continental to showcase 2 battery charging systems at CES

German auto supplier Continental AG said it has developed two battery charging systems that aim to tackle the obstacles of range, weight and cost often associated with charging technology. The first of the two is a wireless charging system that transfers power from a charging pad on the ground, to a receiver pad beneath an electric vehicle. The charging power is transferred inductively, and is able to supply one mile of driving for every 90 seconds of charging, the company said in a Wednesday.
