Ontario drivers found guilty of dooring a cyclist or distracted driving will face higher set fines and demerit points as of Sept. 1, when new legislation comes into effect.
The North American Tire & Retread Expo will add a tyre recycling section – “Tire Recycling World” – on a permanent basis from the 2016 edition of the show. The next show will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on 19-21 April, 2016 in New Orleans.
National Express has signed up Michelin solutions to provide a five-year comprehensive tyre management system for its UK fleet of almost 2,000 vehicles. This next chapter in National Express’ relationship with the tyre maker involves its adoption of the ‘Effitires by Michelin’ solutions programme; Michelin says Effitires proved itself “ideal for the public transport group’s diverse operations.”

Following an 11 week gap since the Le Mans 24 Hours in June, Dunlop’s FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) will be in action again as round four of the series takes place on 30 August at the Nürburgring Grand Prix track. Despite the Nürburgring making its first appearance on the modern-day WEC calendar, Dunlop teams had the opportunity to test at the track in July where Strakka Racing topped the times on their first outing with their new Gibson car.

Cooper Tire will be the official tyre sponsor of this year’s Dubai International Motor Show. Announced during a visit by the vice president and managing director of Cooper Tire, Europe and the Middle East, Jeff Schumaker, the sponsorship will mark the tyre brand’s first move to increase its presence across the Middle East ahead of a series of new product arrivals over the coming months.
It started two years ago with just two markets – India and the UK – and by the start of 2015, Apollo Tyres’ association with Manchester United Football Club covered 69 countries in Asia, Europe and parts of Africa. The tyre maker now reports that it has extended its relationship with Manchester United even further; it now includes the whole of Africa, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Brunei.
A change of date has been announced for the ‘Flex in the City’ seminar jointly organised by the European Tyre Recycling Association (ETRA) and two Italian organisations, ANTEL (the Italian National Association of Local Authority Technicians), and ARGO (the Italian Recyclers Association). Due to “circumstances beyond ETRA’s control,” the seminar will now take place in Treviso, Italy on 22 October rather than 23 October.
